CCARM collects bacteria from human, animals, and environment, identify, assays MICs, characterize the resistant mechanism, stores, and distributes to researchers. In addition to these activities, CCARM provides various services and various information through homepage and publish bulletin. Since CCARM started in 1999, it has been members of Clinical Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI), World Federation for Culture Collection (WFCC), and International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER).
